Better Cotton
Standard overview
Better Cotton standard system is a holistic approach to sustainable cotton production which covers all three pillars of sustainability: environmental, social and economic.
The system is designed to ensure the exchange of good practices, and to encourage the scaling up of collective action to establish Better Cotton as a sustainable mainstream commodity.
Standard owner
Established officially in 2009, Better Cotton is multi-stakeholder, cooperating with organizations from across the cotton supply chain and other interested stakeholders.
Better Cotton and its members aim to transform the cotton sector by developing the standard as a global, mainstream sustainable commodity, bringing long-term benefits to the environment, farmers and other people dependent on cotton for their livelihood.
