FAQs

  • What is the RDS?

The Responsible Down Standard (RDS) aims to ensure that down and feathers come from animals that have not been subjected to any unnecessary harm.

  • Can I use your standards to know the identity of a farm (for down, wool, mohair, or alpaca)?

As of now, Textile Exchange standards are not designed to provide full supply chain transparency. A brand may take the decision to do this additional investigation, but it is not included as part of the standard.

If you are interested in doing the work of identifying all of these sites, then you would need to work directly with your suppliers and request that they disclose their sources to you.
